Motto Magazine Features Social Entrepreneurs

How do we do good, while doing well?

That’s the root question addressed in every issue of Motto Magazine: Purpose, Passion, Profit. I’ve been writing for them for a couple of issues and I’d like to bring your attention to the most recent March/April edition which features, “6 Gurus of Eco-Chic.” For this issue, I interviewed Alexander Souri, the founder of Relief Riders International. He takes adventure travelers to remote regions in the deserts of India, to set up medical camps that provide healthcare to up to 800 villagers in one stop alone. Here’s Alexander with a little boy at a medical camp, and then on his Marwari horse.

I caught up with Souri at the Alliance for a New Humanity Conference, Human Forum,  in Puerto Rico, for Motto Magazine. Check out the podcast below. It’s facinating to hear how he went from Hollywood to the desert after conquering some personal chaos. He gives work/life integration a whole new meaning.

Perhaps Mr. Souri, with his “global perspective” and his “skills set” to get him “in touch” with his soul, might want to explore the “layer” of expanding his circle of compassion to nonhuman animals. Perhaps he might want to question whether using horses and donating livestock are actions that will add value to the personal evolution he seeks. Being “of service” shouldn’t include the “fun” of using horses–or any other sentient beings.
