I’d like to bring to your attention an interesting podcast done through the Harvard Business School. It’s an interview with Professor Bill George who discusses his new book, True North, co-written with Peter Sims. George says the best leaders lead from the heart as well as the head. He suggests an authentic leader embraces their fundamental character and values, while following a deeper intuition within.
George discusses the path of the authentic leader and how that journey might sometimes be a lonely one. But he adds that seeking guidance from mentors and advisors can help support your personal commitment to sticking to your values while doing business. In his book, George also references the importance of addressing worklife issues and the benefits of developing self awareness.
