Who Matters Now? Business 2.0

Bono_2Business 2.0 is running what on the surface appears to be a fun interactive polling project, but is really a commentary on what we all deem as the successful set who are making some kind of contribution, whether to business or society.

It’s calling on you to vote for the business people who inspire, inform, and infuriate you; from CEO’s, to entrepreneurs, to media stars. Don’t be swayed by Bono to the left, I had a bunch of preferences. I happen to be a big fan of his.

I’m posting this story because it brings attention to how media and business can influence society and in fact bring about crucial discussion and social transformation. If you gaze at the bios of these people and what they’ve accomplished – whether you agree with their social mores or the way they do business, they have had an impact.

The extraordinary amount of work that went into the making of their personal brand must have been daunting. One wonders if worklife balance is even an issue for such folks. Perhaps making a difference on a global level feeds them. Everyone has a voice – some use it for good, some for self gain, some for – well you decide!

I’d vote for Bono. I went to that site and saw that the creators of Google were featured as well.
