For folks on the fast track toward multi-careering, check out Marci Alboher’s new blog on the New York Times site called Shifting Careers, Smart Thinking at Work.
The author of One Person/Multiple Careers: A New Model for Work/Life Success takes her “slash-effect” philosophy to a new level of understanding. Marci explores and offers guidance on the elusive formula to worklife success for those who are re-careering, reinventing, or reassessing their career choices.
The New York Times defines the purpose of Alboher’s new venture as, “…a column and blog that highlights the newfangled ways we are custom-blending careers, and shares tips for doing it better.”
Alboher’s column appears in the Business section of the paper and online once a month, but the real conversation will take place on the net. It’s in that dynamic exchange where we get to dive a bit deeper into the story – behind the story.
For example, today Alboher takes on the conundrum of women lawyers and their battle for worklife synergy through the vehicle of flex-time schedules. She picks up on this weeks Working Mother’s Survey of Best Companies for Women, done in partnership with Flex-Time Lawyers. Alboher is warm and witty, check it out.
